Fidel Lara Flores
Fidel Lara Flores, 87, of Spring, Texas, went to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, joining his beloved “Hon” Alice, who preceded him in death. F.L., as some friends affectionately called him, was born on Aug. 22, 1929, in Floresville, where he grew up, to Frederico and Manuelita Flores.
He was married to his wife, Alice, for nearly 64 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice Flores; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Fidel is survived by his children, Louis Flores and wife Cindy and Loretta “Lorrie” Parise; five grandchildren, Ashley McCarty and husband Brady, Travis Kyle Flores and wife Victoria, and Collin, Megan, and Brandon Parise; three great-grandchildren, Jacob and Alexis McCarty and Tyleigh Flores; three sisters and one brother, Lucy Guerra, Benita Montoya, and Gaspar Flores, all of Floresville, and Lillie Flores of Pleasanton; his loving dogs, Muffy, Minnie, and Mister; and his cat, Noche.
Visitation and a rosary were held on Tuesday, Oct. 18, from 6-9 p.m. in the Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home in The Woodlands.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at noon in St. Edward Catholic Church in Spring.
A military burial will follow on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Houston National Cemetery, followed by a reception “Around the Kitchen Table.”
