Beef Cattle Short Course Jan. 24
SAN ANTONIO -- The last of the series of the 2013 South Texas Beef Cattle Short Course will be presented on Thursday, Jan. 24, with registration at 6 p.m. and the program beginning promptly at 6:30 p.m. The event will be held in Room 109 of Pedernales Hall, Palo Alto College, located at 1400 West Villaret St. in San Antonio and is being co-presented by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and Bexar Beef Cattle Committee.
The session will include a Texas Animal Health Commission diseases update by Dr. Dee Ellis, executive director of Austin.
Ellis’ presentation will be followed by the presentation “Estate Law’s ‘Hot Topics and Changes’ for 2013” by Jeremiah Leibowitz, Texas Ag Law of San Antonio.
Dr. Travis Whitney, a livestock nutrition expert with Texas A&M AgriLife Research of San Angelo will follow Leibowitz. Whitney will speak about comparison of juniper feeds for livestock.
The cost for the session is $10 and attendees must register by Tuesday, Jan 22. Register with Angel Torres at the AgriLife Extension office for Bexar County at 210-467-6575.
Two continuing education units in the general category will be available for attendees at this session.
