Three La Vernia calf scramblers, who were each successful in catching a calf in the 2012 San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo, returned to participate in the San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo Calf Scramble Reception Feb. 13. Zachary Balcar, Jennifer Skryzcki, and Landon Richter, all juniors at La Vernia High School, were each awarded an $800 scholarship to purchase a breeding animal to raise and show at the 2013 San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo. . . .
