Floresville FFA competes in judging contests

The Floresville FFA has been very busy this spring competing all over the state at judging contests.
Competing in Milk Quality and Products are Brielle Brown, Julie Rakowitz, Emerald Starling, and Lauren Moon. This team competed at the Katy Invitational Judging Contests, where they finished seventh. This team also competed April 6 at Texas A&M University, where they placed first in the Guadalupe Valley District and third in Area VII. By finishing the area contest in third place, the team qualified to compete in the Texas FFA State Milk Quality and Products Contest Thursday, April 18, in Stephenville at Tarleton State University. This is the third year for Floresville FFA to have a Milk Quality and Products team and they have qualified for state all three years.
Competing in Livestock Judging are Haley Wares, McClaine Pawelek, Taylor Bell, and Shelby Madden. This team has traveled to contests in Victoria, San Antonio, Houston, Texas State University, and Katy. This team competed in the Area VII FFA Contest held on April 6 at Texas A&M University, where they placed third in the Guadalupe Valley District and seventh in Area VII. This team also qualified for the state contest where they will compete in College Station at Texas A&M University on Saturday, May 4. This is the eighth year in the last 11 years for the Floresville FFA Livestock Judging team to qualify for the state contest.
Floresville FFA ag teachers and team coaches are Mark Jarzombek and Mike Billings.
