The Texas AgriLife Extension Service of Atascosa, Bexar, Guadalupe, and Wilson counties will host a Pond Management Program, Friday, April 26, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Bugg Farms located at 1287 C.R. 314 in Sutherland Springs.

Jared Timmons and Dr. Todd Sink of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service are among the speakers to address:

•Feral hog management around ponds

•Pond and aquatic weed management and fertilization

•Pond recovery and restocking after drought.

Cost of the program is $20 per person, which includes handouts. Three hours of continuing education units (CEU) credits will be offered to commercial, non-commercial, and private pesticide license holders -- one CEU in General and two CEUs in Integrated Pest Management.

Attendees may take a sample of pond weeds to identify, along with lawn chairs, since the meeting will be held outside.

Registration deadline is set for Wednesday, April 24, by calling Julie at the Wilson County Extension Office at 830-393-7357 or Guadalupe County Extension Office at 830-303-3889.
