Jeanette Talley, 93, of Pandora and formerly of Nixon, died Friday, March 7, 2014. She was born on Sept. 7, 1920, in Plainview, Texas, to Charles Edward and Catherine Elizabeth (Phipps) Painter.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry L. Talley, on Oct. 11, 1995; her daughter, Robin Kay Talley, on Oct. 11, 1970; her daughter-in-law, Kim Talley; a sister, Nancy “Nan” Crawford; and two brothers, Robert Painter and C.E. Painter Jr.

She is survived by her son, Jerry L. “Jay” Talley Jr.; her daughter, Jennifer Goodwin; grandchildren Titus, Wayne, Stanley, Jerry III, Leslie, Lindsay, and Laura; numerous great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, March 9, from 5-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

A funeral service was held Monday at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Nixon, with the Rev. Michael Linton officiating.

Interment followed in the Nixon Cemetery in Nixon.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 403 N. Texas Ave., Nixon, TX 78140.
