CMMC employees donate turkeys to area food pantries
Celeste Brizzee, CNO, donates turkeys to representatives from the South Texas Resource & Assistance Center and the Food Pantry Poth Area.
The Connally Memorial Medical Center (CMMC) celebrated Thanksgiving a little early this year. CMMC’s Thirty Minute Club purchased turkeys to be given to employees as they came in to update their employment files for emergency management purposes. Every employee was given the opportunity to either take their turkey or donate it to a local food bank. We are proud to announce that there were more than 20 turkeys that were donated. The local food banks that received turkeys were the Food Pantry Poth Area, South Texas Resource & Assistance Center, the Sutherland Springs Food Pantry, and Helping Hands Ministries.
The Thirty Minute Club is comprised of employees at CMMC that choose to donate 30 minutes of their pay per pay period to a fund that is used for projects that benefit both the patients and the employees. Some of these projects include donating the flagpole in front of the hospital, the salad bar in the dining area, and the garden area on the north side of the hospital.
