This past week at the La Vernia Intermediate School, 150 students within the 10 third-grade classes dressed up to represent their heritage. In addition, each student brought a dish to represent their country’s food. It was a wonderful way for the children to learn about different cultures through a hands-on learning atmosphere.

It is one thing to read about a country, its customs, and to look at photographs of the dishes they prepare for meals, but it is quite another to experience it firsthand!

The La Vernia Intermediate, along with the entire third grade, would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the support of parents, family, and community members -- we couldn’t have done it without you!
