SAN ANTONIO -- Jacob Bailey, Micayla Pearson, and Tristan Summy of Wilson County have been chosen to participate in the Texas Brigades program this summer. The trio was selected based on their academic records, interest in wildlife and natural resources, and leadership activities.

The Texas Brigades’ mission is to educate and empower youths with leadership skills and knowledge in wildlife, fisheries, and land stewardship to become conservation ambassadors for a sustained natural resource legacy.

There are seven Brigade camps being held this summer: two Buckskin Brigades, two Bobwhite Brigades, Bass Brigade, Waterfowl Brigade, and Ranch Brigade.

Due to the high interest of these camps, the application season has closed for this year’s camps.

For more information or to receive emails about 2014 camps, contact Helen Holdsworth at 210-556-1391 or hholdsworth@texas-wildlife.org.
