Jaguars force three-way tie in district February 2, 2010 FLORESVILLE -- Following their 57-48 win over the Medina Valley Lady Panthers last Friday night, the Floresville Jaguars have forced a three-way tie for the district title. La Vernia polishes off competition January 26, 2010 LA VERNIA -- After a pair of losses the prior week, the La Vernia Lady Bear varsity basketball team got back on track this past week with a pair of victories. The Lady Bears knocked off San Antonio Lutheran on Jan. 19 by the score of 60-47, and then defeated San Antonio Hawkins Jan. 22 by the score of 73-9. (More)
Jaguar soccer off to good start Leroy Nitschmann January 19, 2010 Following the first two weeks of the 2010 soccer season, the Floresville Jaguars have made history, as they have won two tournament trophies and currently have a record of five wins and two losses. The Jaguars won the championship trophy at the Southside tournament during the first week and took home the consolation trophy from the Southwest tournament this past weekend. The championship was the first-ever for the Jaguar soccer program, which is currently coached by Nash Martinez. (More)
Poth powerlifters begin season with strong showing January 19, 2010 YORKTOWN -- The Poth Pirate and Pirette powerlifting teams recently attended their first competitions of the season, traveling to Yorktown Jan. 9. Poth headed for Yorktown with a total of 13 lifters, eight of whom are new to the sport. When they returned home, nine of those 13 were wearing medals. (More)
Jaguars fall in overtime January 12, 2010 FLORESVILLE -- After a 6-point loss to Medina Valley just three days earlier, the Floresville Jaguar basketball team was looking to get back on track Jan. 8, as it hosted the Southside Lady Cardinals, the team with which they eventually shared the district title last game. The game was close and even saw a period of overtime, but in the end, it was Southside with a 1-point victory -- 48-47. (More)

Hornets blow out Knights on New Year’s Eve January 5, 2010 EAST CENTRAL -- It isn’t often that a high school basketball team scores enough points in a single game to eclipse the century mark, but that’s exactly what happened on New Year’s Eve as the East Central Hornets welcomed the Steele Knights, then proceeded to hand them a 106-58 defeat.
