As the publisher of a print newspaper, I cannot tell you how excited I am about the teacher participation in our Newspapers In Education program. With almost 30 percent of today's 15-year-olds watching an average of four hours of television daily, their opportunities to experience life in the "real world" are extremely limited.  (More)
Meet Wilson!
Meet Wilson!August 4, 2008
"Hey! Did you know that before I was Wilson, the mascot, I was just a regular kid like you? I was born on a nice spring day in April. My mom’s name is Pink Lady and my dad’s name is Jonathan Gold. I do not have any brothers or sisters. I have a pet worm named Bookworm. I named him Bookworm because I like to read to him. I like to read because it helps me learn about many different things. Because I like reading so much, I became interested in reading the newspaper. The newspaper gives you information. Do you want to know why I became the NIE mascot? I became the NIE mascot because I want to encourage you to read the newspaper. So,if you want to learn something new, pick up a newspaper and start reading."  (More)

How Article Search Works

The Article search engine looks for an exact match on any word(s) in the headline or the article body.

You can choose to search only articles in a specific category (e.g., Business) or the entire site.

For example, if you type in the word Floresville, the search results will include Floresville City Council Agenda, Floresville City Council Special Meeting, and any other articles that have the word Floresville in either the headline or the article body.

If you search for multiple words, let’s say the words Floresville and 775, the search results will list any articles that include both Floresville AND 775 somewhere in the headline or the article body.
