A day of miracles.
August 26, 2010 (Aug. 18, 2010) It was one year ago today-18th day of August 2009. That day is etched on my mind and heart. It turned out differently than I hope and planned. But God was with me all the way. I always wake up thinking positive thoughts. (More) The dog days of August.
August 13, 2010 It's been 10 days since I have written in my blog. I guess you would say I have been driving in the fast lane these days! My mind is a clutter of things..."What did I do? Where did I go? What happened to all those yesterdays? (More) Living without water in Wilson County
July 27, 2010 Water was a gold mine if you had a well with good drinking water on your land when I was growing up.I grew up in the South Texas Brush Country, in southwest Wilson County where water was scarce, because we did not have a good well on our farm. We had a windmill that pumped brownish, bitter, water and when it sat in the tank where the well pumped the water into, and the wind didn’t blow for days, the water became still, murky and covered with a rust colored slime mixed with the mud on the bottom. That was because the cattle waded into the tank and stirred the mud. We did not even swim in that tank! (More) A weekend in Floresville
July 20, 2010 It’s been a wonderful weekend with my sister Gerry, from Round Rock, Texas visiting. We haven’t done this for over a year. Eddie was still here last time she stayed a few days, and we went to the Veteran’s Home to see him and had a great visit then. I was looking forward to this visit. July 16, 2010 After spending 5 days in beautiful Samaipata, at La Posada del Sol, my son and his wife's hotel, we traveled 3 hours to Santa Cruz to stay in a hotel for a couple of days before catching our flight home to the States on Saturday. On my last night in Bolivia, the other members of my family went out to dinner at a nice restaurant. I decided to stay at the hotel and rest up for the flight back to the States tomorrow. But late that afternoon, I had a call from missionary friends who lived in Santa Cruz, Michael and Daisy Lund. They wanted to meet me at the hotel later and visit with me. I was excited because even though I had talked to them through e-mails, I had never met them in person! (More) Leaving Samaipata Bolivia
July 2, 2010 I had been in Samaipata for nearly a week.I was sad because I loved the time of rest and relaxation in the beautiful village. I was so glad I had been able to see for myself the lifestyle, work, family life, and happiness my family had in Bolivia, far from my Texas home. I could go back home and rest assured they were okay. La Posada del Sol was comfortable and it felt like home. Every one who stays there ends up staying longer than they plan. They don't want to leave. My son and granddaughter took me the three blocks to show me their house. I had spent all my time that week at the inn where my room was. When we came to the gate of their home, I saw the beautiful flowers and lovely fence surrounding a beautiful house. Sierra and Trent took me on a tour of the main house, which had a big kitchen that was bright and cheery with the lovely blue cabinets giving the room a cool feeling. (More)
