Firefighters to fill boots for MDA
July 2, 2009 KENEDY — Chief Rudy Saenz and 14 other members of the Kenedy Volunteer Fire Department will participate in the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s annual Fill-the-Boot campaign Saturday and Sunday, July 4-5, by collecting monetary donations in Kenedy on U.S. 181 by the Exxon station from 8 a.m. to noon. Their goal is to raise $3,000. (More)

June 24, 2009 FLORESVILLE — Complaints from parents and visitors about the difficulty of egress from the Floresville South Elementary School onto S.H. 97 have been heard. The Floresville Independent School District’s board of trustees, at its June 16 meeting, awarded a $108,000 contract to San Antonio-based Levy Corp. to install a traffic light there. (More)
