Rudy, that's not giving, that's purchasing. To truly give a gift, you must not expect something in return (and liberals say we are selfish). I also don't care what the law says. If you take something from someone against their will or through coercion, that is called stealing. Finally, our so called representatives often pass laws that are completely against the will of the people. I would hardly call these people representatives. It is also true that the majority rule should not deprive us of our basic rights.

Having said all that, I am not against paying taxes at the local level that are usefull. I am speaking mainly of federal taxes. I would prefer social security and medicare to be at the county or state level than at the national level (where it constitutionally has no place).
