Those who caused the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac problem by insisting on loose underwriting standards are now insisting the two mortgage institutions lower their their new standards. Representatives Barney Frank and Anthony Weiner are pressuring Fannie and Freddie to "make appropriate adjustments" to their underwriting standards for condos. Reported by WSJ and Reuters.
