Give Us Our Country Back
Ca
January 2, 2010 11:56am
"I'M POSITIVE THAT YOU ARE WRONG. The people who founded this country never outlawed medicinal plants or plant-derived drugs. Opiates, cannabis, and cocaine were completely legal"
I'm sure there were many things that were not outlawed back then. For instance speeding on the freeway or perhaps running a red light. But we impose laws and we sometimes amend them because they make sense and they protect us. Laws are made by the people for the people. We often elect officials with the hopes that they will follow through with the promises made to us are kept.
For example if we go back a few years to New York City, mayor Gulliani promised if elected he would do everything in his power to reduce the crime rate in the city. The people of the city beleived in him so he was elected. My point is that its not only the government that wants these laws its the people as well. I can guaratee you that if the law were to back down and let every one do as they please, the majority of the communities in the country would complain to the police on why they are not doing enough.
If you would please answer these qustions on your next posting.
How would you like it if you found out that a technician high on cocaine worked on the airplane you were flying on? Or the doctor that was performing surgery on one of your family members was high on some kind of acid trip. All because it was lagal to use drugs.
In a perfect world one might grow his own drugs and use it without harming anyone else, but unfortunatley not in this one.
It would be nice for both our sake if you had your own land where you could live and do as you please. If you stayed on your side and we stayed on ours. You would impose your own laws if any. We could impose ours. You would even be able to take the constitution, twist it and used it to your advantage and your personal gain. I would be all for your type of people wiping your self of the face of the planet. You could be high all the time and when you run out of money you can go rob your neighbor for a hit. Then when he runs out he can do the same to you. You wouldnt even have to worry about the law protecting your children or other family members because you get to live as liberal as you please. My taxes would even go down bacuse I wouldnt even have to pay for your buddies daily room and board at the San Quentin Inn.
We could live on our side in peace and tranquility. We wouldnt have to worry about our children playing in the front yard because all the drug users and distributors would all be on their own turf destroying each other. I think your right, it might work. Why don't you get with your local congressman and see what they can do for you. You could have your perfect world and we could have ours.
Your argument is solid for the sake of radicalism and liberalism.
