The record high is for the month of February. But see, this is another example of the U.S. making its own bed -- the U.S. government is responsible for Gadaffi being in power today. If they had dealt with him appropriately back in the 80s when he was causing trouble, this current crisis might have been averted.

Also, if the U.S. had been wiser about planning its energy future in the earlier years, it wouldn't be so dependent upon FOREIGN petrochemicals. Why, if the U.S. is sitting on a bed of oil does it have to go halfway across the earth to get it? ? The U.S. has enough resources to tell the rest of the world to go to hell, but it chooses to remain dependent -- borrowing money from China to give Egypt and Europe buying oil from the U.S that we got from the Arab Peninsula but refined in the U.S. and shipped back across the Atlantic to Europe.
