Taylor's version is correct. There were a few boards, 4a, EDC, and Planning and Zoning on the agenda. Instead of each new member nominating a single appointee, Rene, Sherri and John took turns nominating an entire slate, alienating the other council members and unseating current board members. Then, with little discussion, they moved to close the question (call for a vote), and voted to approve the slate en bloc. No, it didn't show a willingness to work as an entire team of elected officials, but did we not ask for change?

It's a strategy that plays politics with our boards. However, not a far stretch from what has been played for the last five years. Just new players.

This, too, shall pass, and hopefully things will meet in the middle. It will be very interesting to see how this plays out. But the new majority has definitely drawn first blood. I say let it work itself out for a few meetings. They can't possibly make things much worse.
