Alvin, with all due respect, school supt do not have the legal power to raise taxes. He/she may recommend and the board has the option of following his/her suggestion or not. But only the board of trustees can vote to raise property taxes. If the trustees voted to raise taxes, and that made the majority of the public mad, then they should vote the trustees out of office, not go after the supt.
