Alvin, I have a great idea that will make you happy because it will reduce taxes...since that is your main goal. Close the cafeteria and have all students bring their lunch...save that money Stop providing bus service and make the parents bring their kids to school...no more bus expenses. Stop all athletics and band competition with other school districts, and fire all of the coaches and the band directors. That will save tons of money on equipment and student travel. Close the Vo-Ag dept and fire the Ag teacher...after all the kids do have 4-H available if they want to participate. Turn off the air-conditioner and open the windows when it is hot, In the winter time, keep the thermostat at 50 degrees; if the kids want it warmer they can wear their coats all day. And lastly, put about 45 kids in each classroom, so we can get rid of about two dozen teachers. Now a school operated this way will, I guarantee, have a low tax rate...but I don't my grand children in it.
