hello humby, first off, I work for Acuren but not the location this device is from. I work with these devices on a daily basis. These devices are actually very common. They are the main tool for inspection of pipelines throughout the U.S. We use darkroom trucks that can securely hold these devices in place. These devices are fairly secure in that there is a lock on the device, the device is placed in an outer container which is is put in a frame that is bolted and chained down. Then there is two locks that whoever stole these had to get thru...a deadbolt and door lock. The article does not describe the truck very well. It isn't a regular truck by any means. The person who has this device, if they are not aware of its contents is in a potentially lethal situation and anyone who is around it for too long.
