codeman and mr miller,,, if i understand the communication between you two, while the tax rate is not changing, and the posted tax rate only needs to be posted for operational issues not debt, then the city has effectively posted the correct rate, but by virtue of appraisal values being more, true dollars collected are going to increase, this would, according to the state, require the city to republish and rehold public hearings. it seems while the city followed one part of the state requirement to show a somewhat misleading effective tax rate, which they could do, they failed to follow the state regs when it comes to showing true dollars collected, show they could say they didnt raise your taxes. is this correct,, and if so, and they are in violation of the state comptrollers requirements, should a COMPLAINT BE FILED WITH THE STATE? what is the remedy??? thks for any info you can further shed if i am incorrect.............
