No, the tall tales is what these crooks tell you when it's election time. These same crooks are the ones who are rumored to bribe people to get votes -- either with a sandwich for lunch or with money or pills left on the dashboard of the car. Or maybe their light bill magically gets paid or they are fortunate enough to get a few extra food stamps. We've all heard the stories about Floresville's mafia family politics, even here in Muppet Land.

Auditors are paid large sums of money to look over the shoulders of people in charge of the finances. When they find fault, they are required to let you know because their reputations rest on their honesty. So when the city's budgetary information is this far askew, it means someone screwed up. Those people ought to be held accountable.
