Please keep in mind that there is a lot of conjecture, gossip, accusations and FACTS that are floating around about LVISD, the Superintendent, Director of Finance, District Administration from the LVISD Staff, parents and taxpayers. We all need to make every effort to separate the fiction, wishful thinking, angry thinking from the FACTS and deal with only the FACTS. One of the most effective methods for finding out the FACTS is to attend school board meetings and be involved. Another way, and it is very effective, is to make Open Records requests for information. As long as the information is not private (I.E social security number, birth date, executive session meeting minutes, etc) the district will provide the information to you. All you need to do is type your request and email, pony mail (receipt requested) or drop off at central office and get someone to sign for and date. Don't ever let fear stop you from seeking the truth. Fear is something to overcome, just like a mountain to climb to get to the other side. BE SPECIFIC when making your request because only the information you specifically ask for will be given. Example: you want to know the Superintendent's pay for last year. Well, is that request for the year of 2011 or is is for the school year of 2010/2011? You will get different results from both of these date frames.
