@7th Generation La Vernian - re: buying of land incident. May I suggest that you seek an Open Records request for all information, documents, meeting minutes pertaining to the purchase of the land? Be SPECIFIC as to what documents, minutes, etc and if at first you don't get as detailed documentation as youmwanted, then submit another request being even more detailed. Keep in Monday that if the district feels that something might be of a confidential nature theymwill ask for an opinion from their attorney...this is standard and doesn't mean they are hiding anything. But be persistent. Also, you don't know for a FACT that the Director of Finance actually owned the land - it may have been solely owned by her husband. Yes, she probably benefited from the sale through her husband, but until you know all the FACTS, everything else is conjecture. FACT: land was legally purchased by the district. FACT: since land was legally purchased, the Director of Finance is not responsible for the decision made by the Superintendent and the board to purchase the land. FACT: nothing is true if you cannot prove it...so get proof. Don't leave all this on the shoulders of a couple of people - truth is in numbers..numbers of people getting the FACTS and joining together to educate the public and make the board and Superintendent accountable.
