Over Taxed, TX

Where is the amendment to constrain legislators to a spending and taxing cap? I know, we have a balanced budget provision, but that means nothing if they can pander and spend their way into bankruptcy, like the federal government has done.

I'd like to see an amendment that would take it completely out of the political arena. If the budget doesn't balance, it would automatically trigger across the board proportionally equal cuts. No wrangling, no deals, no pandering to special interests groups, like teachers unions, or city and county spendaholic officials.

Of course, nothing that takes the power away from politicians would ever be passed by them or even put on the ballot for the PEOPLE to have a say.

That is why Texas needs the initiative process. The PEOPLE need to have the power to put amendments on the ballot without having to ask permission from the very ones that would be against them.
