Question: Has anyone seen a government body that could tax but didn't? Originally a portion of the city tax went for the street maintenance, just as the general city tax used to cover things like sewer and garbage pickup. These things have now been split out as fees but the general tax was never lowered. Now the street maintenance can be paid by an additional tax. For politicians, Washington or local, there are never enough tax dollars.
