"Puzzled"...do you want to be first in all those good categories? Then how about a state Income tax , doubling your property taxes, and raising the state sales tax 3 or 4%. If you want that stuff, you gotta pay for it. Please tell me where in the state constitution ( the Federal Constitution) that the government is responsible for all those things! Don't bother looking...you won't find it cause none of the state or Federal founders ever meant for government to be responsible for all those things. How is it the states responsibility that the graduation rate is low. Every child and every town in the entire state of Texas has schools available to them. If their parents or the kids choose not to attend and drop out. How is that the government's fault and responsibility?
The reason a lot of people like yourself don't like the GOP is because the GOP believes that we should be using the Constitution (both federal and state) to dictate government powers and responsibilities and most of the citizens of Texas (GOP) have decided to have access to a very low tax burden and let the individual take care of getting to school, not getting pregnant, feeding ourselves, etc etc. Cause you see, all the things you fault the GOP and rick Perry for the lack of are essentially Socialistic and communistic platforms not Capitalistic or GOP.
So, Babe, you want it...you pay for it. Myself, I'd rather have low taxes and let YOU worry about getting your snot nosed kids to school and keeping them there and keeping that promiscuous daughter of yours from getting pregnant. Those things are not my concern and I shouldn't have to pay higher taxes to keep YOU and YOURS supplied with government goodies.
This blog definitely has the most naive and ignorant pool of responders of any I have ever seen.
Don't you people ever pick up a book and read or listen to qualified commentators on TV. It's discouraging to see how little most people know about their own government and what is really going on. So, please you glue sniffers go out there and listen to some more of that Democrat drivel that is turning your brain in jello.
