The Republicans in the House dropped the ball again. They just cannot figure out how this political one-upsmanship works. They should have passed a bill extending the withholding tax cut for a year and let the Demo controlled Senate and the President kill it. Then the Dems would be the ones on the defensive. Why mess with this witholding thing at all? Let it expire and reduce tax rates across the board. Social security is bankrupt already. Cutting off the flow of funds into SS just puts it in the hole even more. But who cares. What is a few hundred million more in red ink? It's the wasteful spending stupid.
