A "Friend" of our Mayor posted on his Facebook page:

"I smell a counter Lawsuit for defamation & harassment if they are texting false accusations. I say you do a little rally & petition yourself. We will need signs, paper, pens & Beer. Our rebuttal sign & petition will read: "Ge the beep out of Floresville"

"Give Floresville a reason to throw a party."

"We can call it Rebuttal Day. We can even give city employees the day off with pay. Shoot if your driver's license reads Floresville it will be a mandatory day off."

Our May responded "You're giving me ideas."

Although, I am certain that this was all in jest, it does paint a poor picture of this City's Mayor and climate that now exists for business owners, residents, and citizens of this community.

I received a call from a businessman circulating the petition today. He stated that a number of people are unwilling to sign the petition. Not because they disagree with the Recall of the Mayor and City Council but rather they fear retribution.

It is a sad state for the citizens and residents of this community when they fear retribution from elected officials! I thought that we lived in the United States of America were the People were represented by the Elected Officials! It, unfortunately appears, that is not the case in the City of Floresville.
