The citizens that are challenging the correctness are using the councils own words. As seen in this article. If this had not been pursued - this would have been left unchecked.

The problem is - even after the discrepancy has been pointed out to the Mayor, city council, and city manager and Ms Pollock - they continue to defend their numbers.

Instead of fixing things - they uped the annie to cover their behinds. - and hired numberous lawyers - and a PR group. With taxpayers money. EVEN WHEN THEY HAVE NOW ADMITTED THEIR NUMBERS ARE WRONG.
And they are still continuing on with spending more millions of dollars on a Sports Center.
It seems they care not one wit.????

This started with an incorrect budget - which when brought to their attention at council meetings - the citizens were told to sit down and shut up.

Now, inquiring minds what to know - why would they go to such insane lengths to defend this budget-that they know is incorrect.
The DA - needs to step up. There is something very very wrong - and all this leads me to believe that there is much more to be revealed. It warrents an investigation from the Texas Rangers.
I think the taxpayers need to be persistant in calling the Texas Rangers. Only Mr. Pena - our DA, has the authority to do this.
Maybe we could help the DA move along with formal complaints or concerns sent to his office.
This may need to be our next move.
