Because of the short print deadline ahead of the New Year's Day holiday, this story did not make it into the Jan. 4 issue. We intend to have a full story in the Jan. 11 print edition.

According to officials from the Wilson County Sheriff's Office, Enrique Garcia was shot to death by his brother, Emilio Garcia. Emilio then took his wife, Beatrice, as a hostage. Once they reached the home on C.R. 164, Beatrice was shot in the foot. Then at approximately 3:42 p.m., deputies found Emilio with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was flown to the San Antonio Military Medical Center, where he later died. Beatrice was airlifted to the University Hospital in San Antonio.

Again, more information will follow in the Jan. 11 print edition.
