All these Republicans are for Romney because they think he can win. Well, I can tell you about another former governor of Massachusetts, who was considered safe and capable of beating his opponent. Sure, no one liked him very much but they said he could win. I am referring to Michael Dukakis --- who is pretty much forgotten by now, but he got the Democratic nomination in 1988 because the party leaders figured he could beat George Bush the elder.

That didn't work in 1988 for the Demos and it won't work in 2012 for the GOP. I bet President Obama is enjoying his breakfast this fine January morning.
