The audit numbers that the city is waiting for are for the last fiscal year 2010/2011. Their revised budget worksheet (the one with 5.1 million dollars in adjustments to the three previous FYs) has already been submitted by their accountant. It was filed in District Court by the City Attorney on December 27th, 2011 along with his correspondence to the County Attorney and a letter from the auditor that stated that the software is presumed to be working and that she had no idea why the numbers were incorrectly reported on the City's Budget Worksheets.

When they referred to audits and numbers being reviewed at yesterday's D&P Show they were referring to the numbers for a FY that has not even been in question.

As to the City Manager's statement that the three previous FYs were NOT under his watch. Well, the one with the biggest sets of adjustments and the most questions most certainly was under his watch. It was in September of 2010 that we was promoted from Interim City Manager to City Manager with a 1 year contract and had served as Interim for several months prior.

And there has never been an accusation of MISSING MONEY. Rather, that the historical numbers used as the foundation for the FY 2011-2012 Budget were inflated hence allowing for inflated projections that have no possibility of being obtained. Particularly those of Sales Tax Revenues.

I found this D&P Show to be insulting to those who attended. It was a direct attempt to intimidate, provide false information and answer not one single question directly.
