The recall will succeed because of this simple fact.. people are simply fed up with tone-deaf and unresponsive government. Whether it be Floresville, or Washington DC people, in their hearts, see them as the same. Its perhaps a disproportionate response, but emotionally it evokes the same feelings.

You can't touch Cuellar (because he's protected by Laredo, 2/3 of Floresville voted to fire him, and 3/4 of Seguin but it did little compared to the #s in Laredo), and you can't touch Obama until November, but you can darn sure do something about Floresville right here and now.

I'm not saying that Floresville is as bad as that cesspool in DC, but people are fed up and looking for a chance to strike a blow for open and responsive government and the recall is just the place to do it -it resonates.

Perhaps in a different climate, the recall would fail, but today I can't see how it can.
