Last year I wanted to know why no one cared that LVISD spent $890,000.00 of our hard earned tax dollars to purchase 89 acres from the LVISD Director of Finance at a cool price $10,000.00 per acre (during an economic downturn on the market?) and YET they also received $1.5 million of the Stimulus money (remember - your tax dollars also)......... Where was the concern about this last year? I reported them to the State of Texas (TEA), Senator Cornyn, and Senator Zaffarini, and so far the last I heard the Super Harvey has it locked up with Lawyers. I call this a conflict of interest problem. I need to follow up on this one again. Oh by the way - the acrage is by the new HEB... AND when I first started asking about how the Director of Finance could be involved in this exchange of our tax dollars to sell her homestead, I was advised the deal would be closed within two (2) weeks. This was during a telephone discussion with Super Harvey on 10 August 2011, they closed the deal on Friday 13, 2011. WOW isn't that interesting. Now, those of you who have children in this school district need to take a very pro-active interest in it. Things are not right there. Super Harvey said that the land acquisition was for a campus that would hold 10,000 student??????WHAT???? I have an understanding that if Super Harvey were let go, it would cost the district money to buy out his contract..... Involvement in the community is extremely important, especially if we are lucky enough to have a Republican President in 2012 elected and they really get serious about eliminating the Dept of Education.....Have a great day and stay involved and ask questions.
