Amen prairie. My point exactly. It is right to be grateful to our veterans but it seems they have a blank check. There is a reason it is called service to our nation- it is not supposed to be motivated by how good a deal they can get. I know several retired millionaires, most retirees are far from financially troubled and earn well well above the national average. Especially the officer ranks. Stay 20 years and you will likely retire an 05 and recieve about 80k per year for the rest of your life, not bad for spending 20 cushy years at the top of the food chain, in good quarters eating steak. Something is very wrong with that system. Retire at 42 wealthy. Good deal.
