Rock'n chair Rambler Over Taxed, TX March 14, 2012 9:08am	"If the employer did not contribute, then the employee would have no case" If a frog had wings.... The employer is forced by law to contribute to Soc Sec. It is part of the cost of hiring that employee. You cannot tell me that if the employer could hire that person for less cost, that would not translate into a better negotiated benefit package. It just would. It is a commonly accepted fact that contract employees are paid a higher wage because the employer does not have to pay all the associated costs of hiring that employee. Payroll taxes would be no exception. The employee's net, of course, is reduced by having to pay the full self employment tax himself, but his hourly wage is higher. That is just a fact, Sir.
