Be Careful

Tracy, unless then can get enough oil out of the local wells to equal the world pumping volume, we are not going to impact oil prices let alone gas prices which are determined by refining the oil. This is basic economics. President Obama through regulatory policies has increased the cost of refining gasoline. So, our little bit of oil is not going to lower the price. Where do you think this oil goes? Since Valero has large refineries near Houston and Louisiana, I am going to bet that is where it goes. From there it could go anywhere in the world. The local point is oil is a commodity that local areas make money on. The US point is the more oil we produce here the more revenue, jobs and global security we have.

Rambling, I have to agree with you that Obama is forcing the prices higher to make his alternative energy fantasy a reality. In addition, I doubt he ever allows the XL pipeline to go forward.
