" I am talking about POOR "

It doesn't cost them a THING!

Most people who vote meet the requirement, regardless of race, age or gender. The disenfranchisement argument is a canard and is far less significant than the amount of voter fraud, known or suspected.

"It's called pride and self respect"

So they don't need you defending them and probably are ashamed at the patronizing tone of it. If they have self respect, and really wanted to vote, they could managed it. And, more than likely they have ID.

It's not like there's a guy with a nightstick dressed in black leather standing in front of the polls keeping "poor" people from voting. No, he's there to keep the white crackers away.
