PRAIRIE GROUCH
GRAND PRAIRIE TX

Hi Rambler.....It's not only the corrupt politicians
increasing benefits to get votes. The system is flawed.
There was a article written in 1938 that predicted
the exact year that SS would need to be fixed due
to demographics. That was the year that Reagan fixed
it to last a few more decades. During my working
life, the SS taxes have increased 21 times. The last
tax increase in 1990 began the longest period is my
life without a tax increase. By the way, my first
paycheck in 1949 was taxed at 1% and was raised to
one and a half percent in 1951 and 2% in 1954. Social
Security has been a very good deal for me but I realize
that my gain has come at the expense of others.
I merely used the highway to remind that very few
people do not receive some type of government benefit
and certainly was not an attempt to justify the government mess. Hey.....I better stop or I won't
be able to comment on your long replies....LOL
