Jim Miller Floresville, TX May 15, 2012 4:55pm	MORE NONSENSE FROM THE MAYOR I�m getting dizzy from the mayor�s spins to attempt to justify DEBT without A PLAN. Now, not only did the Council approve renovating River Park they approved new baseball fields, softball fields, football fields and soccer fields on the Event Center grounds�..including new bathroom and concession facilities. This was posted on his Facebook Page about one hour ago: �Park Renovation Update : a park design firm will be at the City Council meeting on May 24. Due to a delay in getting a topgraphical survey , this will be the first presentation to the City Council and Staff. However, I was told that the plan includes redesigning the City side to minimize the erosion issue. The City side would include 3 Softball fields ( large enough for adult use). The Event Center side would include. New baseball fields softball fields, football fields, and soccer fields. Also new bathroom facilities and concession areas. On the City side, the concession stand would be demolished, and the pavilion and bathroom would be renovated. Come to City Hall next Thursday at 7pm.� PARK RENOVATION HAS NEVER BEEN APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL. PAYING A DESIGN FIRM HAS NEVER BEEN APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL. The resolution passed by the Floresville Economic Development Corporation on 30 March 2012 that allocates $125,000/year to the City is for a Project defined as: �a multi-year plan related to the financing, development and construction <of> certain entertainment, parks, recreation and sports complex�. � This resolution says absolutely nothing about the renovation of River Park or the addition of sports fields to the grounds of the Event Center. The 4A Corporation has not held a board meeting in quite some time. When did the 4A Board approve this? Facts are facts, no matter how you try to spin away from them. There is NO plan for the debt that the Mayor, Mayor ProTem and Council Members Gomez and Castillo approved at the 10 May City Council Meeting. They have NO IDEA what they are going to build and NO IDEA what it is going to cost. For all we know it could be a 45\' Bronze Statue of the Mayor and his cronies�... Mr. Mayor, Mayor ProTem, Council Members Gomez and Castillo . . . LET THE VOTERS DECIDE!!!
