retiredinlavernia lavernia June 1, 2012 3:51am	I have good memories of the "icehouses" in Houston - Many small stores that are now called convience stores would have large tanks typically used for cattle watering filled with beer/soda iced down and they were much much colder than the refrigerator could make them - Here in La Vernia the shell station has just recently installed a "tank" and I stop by there a few times a week and get a ice cold Corona. One thing bad about these types of store in Houston is they had small paper bags on the counter that customers used to conceal their cold beer on the drive home - Not a good idea but was very popular.
