Being an elected official is no fun at times. But as an elected official, you have to do things you may not like. To simply play politics, and not respect your fellow council members, on an issue they feel important, from a humanistic point of view, is not only disappointing, but speaks poorly for the city, the mayor, and the council members themselves as people. The environment has become caustic, and that is a reflection upon the city leaders and the tone they have set. That is really the disheartening aspect of this entire protracted running battle.Be professional in your actions, it's fine to agree to disagree, but be respectful of others, both the council and the citizenry.
