Daniel Tejada responds:
“they are talking about a political movement that is disruptive and rude at council meetings … they don't live here in floresville. They bring people from all over the county and san anotonio to come to your (ours) city hall”

Apparently our Mayor believes that if you don’t live within the city limits of Floresville you are not afforded the rights of Citizens that are outlined in the Constitution of the United States or the Constitution of the State of Texas.

Here is the reality.

For every $1 of sales tax paid while shopping in the City of Floresville, 76˘ goes to the State of Texas and 24˘ goes to the City of Floresville. 12˘ goes into the City of Floresville General Fund; 6˘ goes to the Floresville Economic Development Corporation; 3˘ goes to the 4A Corporation (Floresville Event Center); and 3˘ goes to the Street Maintenance Fund.

In 2011, according to the Office of the State Comptroller, over $7.4 million was collected in Sales Tax within the City of Floresville. Of that over $1.7 million went to the City of Floresville. It is without a doubt that all the sales that generated that sales tax were to a large majority of Wilson County residents.

As to the Mayor’s allegations of disruptive and rude, the You Tube videos show the truth. It is Daniel M. Tejada who has been disruptive and rude. He continually interrupts Citizens as well as Council members, he belittles questions and comments of both Citizens and Council members, and he responds with sarcasm and blatant lies!
