Puzzled, seat belt laws are state by state, incentivised by feds witholding highway funds if states don't pass laws. Trickery, yes but ultimately the power is the states. Just as in the case of Romneycare. A state issue.

There is no "free ride". People can hoop and hollar about the 8+million on federal disibility, the food stamp parties and the free health care until we spin into ecomomic disaster like so many European countries.

And if you think that we're all going to be getting better health care now that the feds control what doctors are paid then I would suggest you do meaningful research into Canada's nationalized health care. You'll find people waiting very long periods of time for cancer treatments, orthopedic procedures and a laundry list of services we have ready access to.
