My condolences go out to his family. I had many good times with him. He was welcomed wherever he would go, whether in Stockdale, Poth, Falls City, Floresville or any of the small surrounding communities. He would walk up and someone would yell "Rex Stahl!". He would then flash that patented smile of his.

I remember playing against him in football in high school. He was the biggest guy on the field. I remember Garcia saying "you better get out of Bobbie Stahl's way, or he's gonna flatten you!".

Rex was a great guy, a gentle giant. He will truly be missed.
