Public school education......Gee I thought that 30 years
of paying school taxes is a good start of buying society
back for my education. This is especially true considering
that the schools that I attended were not nearly as plush
as there are today. The school district did not pay for
air conditioning or for bus service if you lived in town.
Lunches were supplied by our parents. I believe that
every self respecting US citizen should pay some income
tax. This includes retired people with income. A portion
of my social security is taxed. The idea that almost
half of the people pay no income tax is disgraceful.
The earned income credit, the child tax credit, and
the child care tax deduction are just another form
of welfare that was not present during my child rearing
years. The country would be far better of if everyone
paid their actual fair share.
