I worked on the shuttle program 1980-1993 and worked with Sally. Truly a great person. I was once shopping in a local business where a friend worked when Sally came in and made a purchase and left. After she was gone, I mentioned to my friend that she was an astronaut and my friend was surprised how normal and pleasant she was - expecting someone who'd been in space would have an ego like the moon. Most of the astronauts I worked with were very pleasant everyday people - its the most famous job that you're never known for. She will be missed.
