Muse....Well, I really hate to lose your vote. I guess
you will just have to continue to vote for the
conservative/liberal hybrid candidate.
Studies have show that immigrants only reproduce
at a higher rate during the first generation. In fact.
the second and later generations of latinos have incurred the
largest decrease in reproduction rates. If you don't
think this is a serious situation, just check the
replacement rate of the countries in Europe.
Since you are an advocate for small less intrusive
government, why not just eliminate social security and
medicare ? My parents and one sibling died without Medicare. Three siblings had medicare coverage when
they died. Same outcome. Why do old people think that they
deserve government health care and rail against the
rest of the population when they also express a wish
to share the government teat ? The plan that President
Bush proposed was still a government plan in that it would
require the employer to donate to the workers private
retirement plan. Confiscating one citizens' wealth
to benefit another. Is that your idea of limited
government ? I was in my third decade when Medicare
was enacted and America got along just fine before
then. Most people only consulted a doctor when they
really needed care and not just because they didn't
have to pay the total costs.
